Title | Hartridge, Hamilton: certificate of election to the Royal Society |
Description | Date stamp on reverse |
Citation | He has made important contributions to optics, the physiology of vision, the properties of haemoglobin, and (with Mr Roughton) on the velocity of rapid chemical action. He has shown exceptional originality and ingenuity in devising methods, which either simplify investigation or permit investigation not practicable by previous methods. This is a prominent feature not only of his longer, but also of most of his shorter papers. His reversion spectroscope has come more and more into use as an indispensable instrument for various forms of research. |
