Citation | Distinguished for his work in Bacteriology. His principal work may be roughly divided into three periods: - I. From 1910 to 1920 a number of works on syphilis. In addition to this during the War he published a number of important papers on meningococcus infection. II. From 1920 to 1922, a series of papers on the haemophilic organisms were published. The conclusions arrived at from these observations are now generally accepted. III. Since 1925 to 1930 his work has been concerned with the anaerobic bacteria, especially 'B tetani' and the mechanism of infection by this organism. This work shows much originality. |
