Title | Kemball, Charles: certificate of election to the Royal Society |
Description | Certificate of Election Citation typed |
Citation | Distinguished for his researches on the mechanism of heterogeneous catalytic reactions, particularly of exchange reactions between deuterium and hydrocarbons leading to new knowledge about the nature and reactivity of adsorbed radicals on evaporated metal films, he was the pioneer both in combining mass-spectrometric techniques with heterogeneous catalysis and in new methods of interpreting the distribution of isotopic species of the initial products. He has also made substantial contributions to adsorption phenomena and recently has applied gas-liquid chromatography to the distribution of final products in complex catalytic reactions. |
