Title | Sciama, Dennis William: certificate of election to the Royal Society |
Date | 1976 |
Description | Citation typed |
Citation | Sciama is responsible for a great deal of the modern cosmological discussion. His contributions have been both in the field of evaluating and integrating the many diverse observational data, and in the field of the logical structure of physical theories, and their relationship to an interpretation of the cosmic laws and the architecture of the universe. He has concerned himself with the greatest problems and he has advanced the general understanding of them. In the course of this Sciama has tackled and solved many detailed astronomical problems, demonstrating a remarkably wide range of understanding of physics and of astronomy. |
