Citation | Tony Sinclair is the leading authority on the ecology, population dynamics and community structure of large mammals. His long-term research on ungulate populations in the Mara-Serengeti ecosystem and elsewhere in east Africa has shown how ungulate populations are regulated and has helped to explain the co-existence of herbivores with overlapping feeding niches. Sinclair has also played a central role in the application of modern ecological methods to the management and conservation of large herbivores in Africa, North America and Australia. |
