Citation | Wendy Bickmore was one of the first to suggest that spatial organisation of the human genome is important for gene and genome function, and subsequently she made many seminal contributions to demonstrate this concept. Her work has identified key factors in gene regulation and illustrated their function in both normal development and in disease. He rmultifacteded approach has highlighted how using a complete toolkit for modern biology (biochemistry, bioinformatics, cell biology, developmental biology and genetics) can synthesise to answer fundamental questions in mammalian genome function. |
