TitleDurrant, James Robert: certificate of election to the Royal Society
Date4 May 2017
DescriptionCertificate of candidate for election
CitationProfessor Durrant is an internationally recognised leader in the photochemistry of solar energy conversion. He has played a world leading role in demonstrating that fundamental photochemical principles, developed largely from studies of natural photosynthetic systems, can be applied to a broad range of solar energy conversion technologies employing molecular and nanostructured materials. His pioneering kinetic studies have not only elucidated the fundamental science underlying energy transduction in such technologies, but have also demonstrated practical design principles now guiding technology development. He is providing national and international leadership in the development of these technologies, and their translation from academia to industry.
