TitleNeville, Anne: certificate of election to the Royal Society
Date4 May 2017
DescriptionCertificate of candidate for election
CitationNeville’s research theme is the understanding and design of functional surfaces. Her fundamental investigations cover bio-inspired surface science, electrochemistry and nano-science in the fields of erosion-corrosion of metals, biotribocorrosion in medical implants and developments of functional surfaces in tribochemistry. In each area she has developed new and often in-situ techniques for observing surfaces. These studies have led to wide-ranging engineering applications in the oil and gas industry, in new lubricants driven by legislation on emission targets, in hip replacement surgery and in the development of surgical technologies.
