TitleOwen, David Jonathan: certificate of election to the Royal Society
Date4 May 2017
DescriptionCertificate of candidate for election
CitationDavid Owen has made outstanding contributions to our understanding of membrane trafficking, a fundamental process for cell physiology and human health. He was the first to determine structures for adaptor proteins, and his work has established several new paradigms and shifted others, by uncovering the molecular mechanisms that ensure precise and robust vesicle trafficking. His lab has elucidated key principles of how vesicle coats select cargo protein and how vesicles are trafficked to specific compartments. An exceptional strength of his research has been the integrated use of structural biology, biochemical and cell biological approaches.
