TitleWilliams, Roger Lee: certificate of election to the Royal Society
Date4 May 2017
DescriptionCertificate of candidate for election
CitationRoger Williams is a structural biologist who has made seminal contributions to our understanding of inositide signalling. Following his achieving the very first structures of a phosphoinositide phospholipase C and a phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K) he has used X-Ray crystallography and HDX-MS to make huge, wide ranging and unique insights into the mechanisms of activation, pathological mutations and potential drug targeting of the PI3K pathways. His structural work is always combined with detailed molecular dissection to yield maximum information, both intellectual and practical. Additionally, he has been a major contributor to our structural knowledge of cell trafficking systems.
