| Citation | Dr. Connie Eaves has contributed to our seminal knowledge of the murine and human hematopoietic systems. Notably, she identified two cell populations contributing to the antibody response that were later characterized as B and T cells and went on to identify many cell populations within the hematopoietic system. She applied her expertise in stem cell isolation to the mammary gland and ultimately isolated both murine and human mammary stem cells. Moreover, she has expanded her understanding of stem cells to how they go awry and result in leukemia or breast cancer, providing the strong foundations of cancer stem cell research.Dr. Connie Eaves has contributed to our seminal knowledge of the murine and human hematopoietic systems.
