Citation | Barry Dickson is one of the intellectual and technical pioneers of circuit neuroscience. His research on reproductive behaviours in Drosophila has gone a long way towards explaining how a set of instincts are implanted into the nervous system during development – work that has been published in a series of seminal papers that have obvious parallels in the landmark discoveries that shaped our understanding of morphological development. In parallel, Dickson has developed and democratized powerful tools and resources that have paved the way for others to approach similar questions in genetics and neuroscience. |
