He is exceptionally energetic and prolific and has been involved in many of the most important recent developments in the field including the proof of the most powerful automorphy lifting theorems in higher dimensions leading to the proof of potential automorphy for all regular self-dual motives; the proof of enormous generalizations of the weight part of Serre's conjecture; the proof of the Ramanujan conjecture for arithmetic hyperbolic 3-manifolds; and the generalization of the (potential) Shimura-Taniyama conjecture to genus 2 curves. |
