Citation | Chwee Teck Lim is a world-leading researcher whose interests include using cell mechanics to understand human diseases and in developing microfluidic technologies for disease detection and diagnosis. He has also cofounded five startups to commercialize technologies developed in his lab. One such technology is a microfluidic biochip that uses cell mechanics principles to detect and retrieve circulating cancer cells from peripheral blood (liquid biopsy) as compared with that of the more invasive and painful tumor biopsy. His FDA-approved technology has won numerous international awards and accolades and is being used in cancer centres and hospitals around the world. |
