DescriptionRecords relating to the charter and running of the boat, 'Maroro' which was used mainly by the marine party for their scientific programme, but also to transport the land party around the Solomon Islands. In particular there is correspondence between the Royal Society and S. B. Brown, captain and owner of Maroro. There are a number of master's requistion forms, hydrographics notes, a programme for the boats movements 15th August - 15th December, and both drafts and signed copies of the charter party agreeemnt. Included in the file are two postcards featuring Maroro and crew, as well as two black and white photographs taken during the expedition. The photographs show one of the marine party diving, and another of the boat moored with the crew at work.
