| Description | The British Council was able to offer assistance to the Brazilian expedition, including help with the reconnaissance party and in finding aerial photographs of the Mato Grosso area. The Council offered advice on things such as customs arrangements and helped to build relationships with Brazilian institutions. Some of the letters from 1968 and 1969 concentrate on the financial situation of the expedition and the efforts to get expedition accounts back into credit, including managing British Council expenses and arranging for money transfers. Towards the end of the correspondence, letters are exchanged on the possibility of creating a reserve around the expedition area. |
