DescriptionQuotes letter from Mr Hollis of the Oxford University Press, 6 August 1943, expressing wish to publish monograph on penicillin and refers to contract he and Chain signed, agreeing to have manuscript ready by 31 December 1944 - by March 1946, Chain had not produced any manuscript - comments on this - comments on drafts of chapters which Chian produced in 1947 and discusses chapters on penicillin chemistry, some of which Abraham agreed to write - comments on question of signing these chapters - chapters on antibiotics from fungi and bacteria were placed at Chain's disposal as final drafts were finished, but Chain did not read these - comments on this - are continuing to have Chain as co-author - comments on this - says the book has been directed team work - discusses this - comments on tables for chemistry chapters - too late to alter chapter on the nature of the action of penicillin - comments on preface - will discuss order of names with the other authors and with the publishers.
