DescriptionHas been considering problems at Radcliffe Infirmary concerning anaesthetics, gynaecology and medicine - some form of restricted private practice is necessary - something must be done for Abernethy in Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology - comments on possibility of stating there is to be no private practice for Nuffield Professors - comments on possibility of making departmental grants to members of voluntary staff still engaging in their ordinary outside practice - could not approach Lord Nuffield again with any hope of success until position of voluntary staff is settled - in USA they break rather than conciliate opposition to medical schools - comments on opposition to Nuffield scheme - problems can best be settled by Nuffield Professors in their own Departments - gives estimates for provision of voluntary staff on part time yearly basis and discusses these - comments on meeting with surgeons about lending beds.
