DescriptionAutograph letter signed by sender. She understands Davies Gilbert's report was from James South. John Frederick William Herschel's description of the telescope meets Kater's ideas. Kater has been much struck by William Parsons' (3rd Earl of Rosse) experiments on the formation of large mirrors. Wishes John Frederick William Herschel had called him when he was in town.
