Title | Letter, from Sir John Herschel to Richard Sheepshanks, dated at Slough |
Creator | John Frederick William Herschel |
Date | 1840-4 |
Description | Autograph letter signed by sender. Thanks Richard Sheepshanks for all the trouble he took with the problem of his portrait. Is anxious to see the specimens of the engraved nebulae of which Richard Sheepshanks spoke, but confesses little hope in photographic 'reverses' of pencil drawings. Has installed his family at Collingwood. |
