Extracts from accounts of the Hurworth meteor from local newspapers [Darlington Telegraph; Richmond Gazette], from 7 January 1855 and pencil copy of a printed illustration of the phenomenon. Commentaries on meteors seen in England Note added "this account is given rather the hope of drawing attention to the subject than of conveying any idea ... of so rare & splendid a phenomenon". The notes were made on the back of a blank weather forecasting printed sheet for 1863.
