TitleList of dates of letters from [Elizabeth] Colling to Sir John Frederick William Herschel
Date1875
DescriptionHandwritten table of the dates of all letters sent by Elizabeth Colling (1799-1879); poet; writer; translator who published under the pseudonym of Eta Mawr and Eta, to Sir John Herschel.
The table dates 120 letters between 20 August 1857 and 10 March 1871, this would make Elizabeth Colling one of the most prolific female correspondent to Sir John Herschel.
The letters would have been gathered and listed as part of the correspondence project led by Colonel John Herschel FRS following the death of his father. The note is marked "sent May 1875" and "pressed esp[eciall]y acc[ording] to the letters". 38 letters from Herschel to Colling were copied in volumes 23 and 24, but the location of the letters by Colling are not known.
