Description | Enclosure, separated from HS/10/213. Notes related to the theories published by Frances Jane Hughes on harmonies of musical tones and colours and their link to evolution. Frances Jane Hugues was a cousin of Charles Darwin. Her essay attempts to reconcile Genesis and science. Darwin wrote in 1880 to Frances Jane Hughes expressing his conviction that "no good scientific journal would publish it". Unknown hand, unclear whether these are notes based on the published 1883 volume or notes sent before publication. |
