Corrections to reports in 12 Mar. 1866 issue of Les Mondes regarding ecclesiastical titles in England, William Whewell's career, and W. T. Brande's role at Royal Mint. Also, English do not eat cats; 'catsup' or 'ketchup' is made of mushrooms. Nor was Herschel's daughter [Maria Sophia Hardcastle] ever acquainted with late [Ludovico] Calandrelli. |
