DescriptionA working set of lists from various periods, on manuscripts of William Herschel, but also some of Caroline Herschel. These include: William Herschel's music, the discovery of 'Georgium Sidus' [Uranus] and its satellites, daybooks, new double stars, family letters, loose folios, and items presented to the Royal Astronomical Society. The wrapper contains many loosely inserted listings and cards, built up over several years, some dated.

The cover label inscriptions include: 'Made by Miss Francisca Herschel Contents and Lists of each bundle in this box 1920-21', and 'DRAWING ROOM W.H. Chest. 30'.
