| Description | Herschel is beginning to get settled and can give an account of himself. He arrived on Monday to find only two rooms for three of them. As senior, the smaller room was given to him, the other two sharing the larger room. As his room was painted, he went off to skate all day. The smell is just becoming bearable. He has seen Colonel Sangham and has left a card for Edens. He will have little spare time for Arabic as his work at the moment is a large plan of the surge of St Sebastian and an account of it in French, for translation. This will take three weeks or a month. He has crockery, a tea and coffeee pot from a fellow who was leaving. |
