Description | He received Herschel's letter of 30 April and apologises for not writing about his boxes, having forgotten about them. He is writing to Strahan asking him to take over the boxes from Herschel until Trotter's arrival. His plans are not set but he thinks he will live on Castle Hill with the younger Strahan. He gives thanks for the treatise on 'Compound geodetic figures' which he has just received through the dead letter office. He will not enter into 'unnecessary raps over the knuckles'. |
