| Description | Yesterday, Mary drove with Mrs Cox to call on Mrs Morant, and saw photographs taken by Mr Waterhouse. There were several of the Morants, 'in all of which Mrs Morant's petticoat is conspicuously shewn'. She has a vague sense of apprehension about John, reviews plans, and dreads the railway journey ahead for him. She discusses a small present she has sent him and copies out an entry from Samuel Pepys' Diary from 18 August 1667. |
