Description | He answers immediately about Herschel's going home, thinking that he may go home himself. He does not think of going yet, as Herschel does, but in February or March. He would never go again for three months, thinking it unbearable, but in view of Herschel's six months' leave and irrespective of other things, he will have the pleasure of seeing his father. He discusses the problem to a replacement for Herschel. He would be grateful to have a note from Herschel on the Magistrate and Collector role at Midnapore, before he goes. He will communicate with 'Gaffer Grey' when ready, but he will be sorry to lose Herschel. |
