DescriptionReplying to a letter of Herschel's to Mrs Bacheler, and sympathising with William's joy on the birth of his son. He discusses the naming of the child, its possible future associations with astronomy, and his own acquaintance with the Herschels. He gives thanks for the 100 rupees for schools and notes the printing of their annual report, in which part of the donation is acknowledged. He asks William if he has preferences on how this is to be expressed in future reports. He will send a parcel of these as soon as he can.
