DescriptionHe will be intetested to hear that the matter of Sir William Herschel's papers will be discussed at Council of the Royal Astronomical Society next month. There is a feeling that a complete set should be available to the public. Joseph has a bibliography which indicates that no papers of value were published except in Philosophical Transactions. He thinks he may be asked if a volume of letters should be added to this and wonder if there is anything he should avoid saying. One of the university presses might undertake the work. He asks for a general latter that he miught pass on the Professor Turner.

With a manuscript note from Sir William James Herschel, stating that in reply, he referred to having his father's collected volumes of his grandfather's writings.
