TitleLetters from C [Charles] Simeon, Edinburgh, to Revd Mr [Alexander] Stewart, Moulin, near Dunkeld
CreatorSimeon; Charles (1759-1836); British Church of England clergyman
RecipientStewart; Alexander (1764-1821); British Presbyterian minister and Gaelic scholar
Date7 September 1802
DescriptionVisiting Stewart would afford him great pleasure, but if he visited Moulin, he would have to go to Glasgow and Rosedoe, leaving his friends in Edinburgh. He would like to see Stewart and his sister, but people cannot attain all they wish in this world. He agrees that since Stewart has recently left his people, he should not absent himself again so soon. An Episcopal Chapel has opened in Cowsgate and Mr. Sanford's Church may also be open to Simeon, whic thinks it better to preach there than in Stewart's churches.
