DescriptionHe received Johnson's favour of 6 April and transmits meteorological data made by him. He assures Johnson that the information was 'carefully made and faithfully recorded'.

With tables headed [p.1]: 'Meteorological Observations in Latitude 52" 36" 12" N Longde. 6" 58 East of Greenwich...' Hourly observations from 9.00am to 9.00pm on 21 September 1839 [September equinox], and at the same hours on 21 December 1839 [December solstice] and 21 March 1840 [March equinox]. Columns for the hours of mean time, portable barometer, attached thermometer, detached thermometer, hygrometer, wind direction and general weather remarks.

Endorsed [p.4]: 'With Captn. Johnson's Compts' and 'Acknowld. by note to Captain Johnson June 21/40'.
