Description | He sends his last hourly observations, supposing that Johnson has not yet returned to town. He hopes that Johnson will be in good health and will have enjoyed his excursion.
With a table headed [p.1]: 'Observations made in Latitude 52" 36" 12" N Longde. 6" 58 E. Commencing at 9AM and ending at 9PM September 21st 1840' [September equinox]. A second table [p.3] is headed: 'Pressure of the Atmosphere observed for 12 successive Hours Commencing at 9AM and ending at 9PM (Mean Time) June 22nd 1840' [June solstice]. Columns for the hours of mean time, portable barometer, attached thermometer, external thermometer, hygrometer, wind direction and general weather remarks.
