DescriptionDaily temperature readings, four taken per day at 8,12, 4 and 8 [a.m., midday, and p.m.] using two thermometers, marked 'London' and 'Berlin'. With two barometrical measurements at 8a.m. and 8p.m., notes on wind direction and strength, and general weather diary comments. The observations were made in tandem, using two observers of the Moravian mission: values for Nain appear on the left hand [verso] pages, with Okak on the right hand [recto] pages, facing.

Commencing: 'Weather Observation from Nain & Okak at Labrador' Added in a different hand: 'from Mr. De La Trobe. Presented by the President'.

Summarised as 'Extract of two Meteorological Journals of the Weather, observed in Nain, in 57 degrees North Latitude, and at Okak, in 57 degrees 30', North Latitude, both on the Coast of Labradore. Communicated by Mr. De la Trobe to the President, and by him to the Society', Philosophical Transactions, v.69, 1778, pp.657-658.
