DescriptionDaily temperature readings, four taken per day at 8,12, 4 and 8 [a.m., midday, and p.m.] using two thermometers, marked 'L' and 'B' ['London' and 'Barby']. With two barometrical measurements at 8a.m. and 8p.m., notes on wind direction and strength, and general weather diary comments. Noting also an eclipse of the Sun on 17 October 1780, and an eclipse of the Moon on 1 November 1780.

Commencing: 'Journal of the weather, with observaions made at Nain on the Coast of Labradore in the Degree N. Lat: by Mr. David Krugelstein from the 11th of Septr. 1780 to the 31st of Augt. 1781'.

The journal contains a preface [pp.159-160]: 'Mr. David Krugelstein, who acts as Physician & Surgeon to the [Moravian] Mission at Nain, has made the following observations. He has taken some pains. He has learned very little English & has therefore attempted to explain himself sometimes in Latin. He writes to Mr. LaTrobe to the following effect...' There is also a recapitulation [p.198] with remarks on patterns within the observations for the whole year.
