DescriptionDaily atmospheric pressure and temperature readings, four taken per day at 8,12, 4 and 8 [a.m., midday, and p.m.] using a single barometer and thermometer. With notes on wind direction and strength, and general weather diary comments, including notices of the aurora borealis.

The author states, in a footnote to the entry for on 11 September 1784: 'By a accident which happened at that time I couldn't observe every Day exactly, & therefore I thought it proper to live here of the whole reamining part of this months September']. Observations restart on 1 October.

Commencing: 'Nain'. Stamped lower right, p.331: 'Soc. Reg. Lond.', and with a note in ink, 'Presented by Mr. Phil. Hurlock F.R.S. March 29. 1787'.
