DescriptionDaily meteorological observations made at Minehead in Somerset. Usually three sets of readings per day: the morning times between 6.00am and 8.00am, then at 12.00am midday, and 9.00pm. Columns for date and times, general weather remarks, wind direction and strength, barometer and thermometer readings and rainfall.

Some concluding remarks [p.15] give overall details annual highs and lows of the barometer and thermometer, and rainfall quantities.

Title page [p.1] headed: 'A Meteorological Journal for y Year 1784. Kept at Minehead in Somersetshire by Mr. John Atkins'. Stamped 'Soc. Reg. Lond. ex dono Auctoris' and inscribed with the presentation date 19 January 1786.
