DescriptionDaily meteorological observations made morning, afternoon and evening at the Hudson's Bay Company Chesterfield House, or Chesterfield Fort. Commencing at 8.00am, 2.00pm and 9.00pm, the times of observations vary across the period. Columns for date and time, thermometer, wind direction and strength, and general weather remarks.

With a note signed by Peter Fidler [p.12]: 'The Thermometer a Fahrenheits - 8 inches long made by Dollond. Hang in the shade 5 foot above the Ground'.

Headed [p.1]: 'Meteorological Observations made at Chesterfield House - up the South Branch River...by Peter Fidler'. Stamped 'Soc. Reg. Lond.' and inscribed 'Presented by Joseph Colen Esqr. March 31. 1803'.
