DescriptionDaily meteorological observations made at Falkham in Kent [1728-1730], at Northfleet in Kent [1731-1733] and at Tonbridge in Kent [1734-1746]. The number of daily observations varies at the commencement of the volume, but settles to (usually) two sets of records per day, morning and evening. Columns for date and time, barometer, wind direction and strength, weather, cloud, rainfall, and miscellanous observations. There are annual summaries by month of barometer readings, wind rain and miscellania, at the concluson of each annual gathering.

Inscribed [p.1]: 'A Meteorological Diary kept by the late John Hooker esq: of Tunbridge begun the 18th August 1728 and continued on to the 22d of June 1765 being a term of 37 years. Lefct by will to John Chandler; and by him presented to the Royal Society, May 29 1777 to be deposited among their papers of this kind should they appear deserving of their acceptance'. With a summary of the method employed by Hooker.
