TitleMagnetic observations in British Columbia, Canada, by Robert Wolseley Haig
Date2 February 1858-28 July 1863
DescriptionObservations of total magnetic force compiled at various locations in British Columbia, Canada. Printed forms, with sections to record the observing station, its latitude and longitude, the date, commencement and ending times of observations, thermometer reading and remarks. The printed sheets commence [pp.11-22] with readings taken at Kew Observatory, presumably as training and to test the instrumnets in use. These commence at the Sumas Prairie [p.23], moving to Nisqually [p.25], and Esquimalt on Vancouver Island [p.27] and a variety of other stations; before ending at Camp Akamina [p.65] the Wigwam River [p.67], and the right bank of the Kootenay, Tobacco Plains [p.69]. The final entry is endorsed with the later date of 28 July 1863.
