DescriptionDaily meteorological observations made at Churchill Fort, or Factory [also known as Prince of Wales Fort], Manitoba, in Canada. Four readings per day, commencing at 8.00am, 12.00 noon, 4.00pm and 8.00pm, varying thereafter. Columns for date and time of observations, thermometer, barometer, wind strength and direction, rain or snowfall, and general remarks.

Headed [p.1]: 'Meteorological Journal kept at Churchill Factory in Hudson's Bay, by Mr. Stayner, the Chief Factor of that Factory'. Stamped 'Soc. Reg. Lond.' and inscribed in ink 'Presented by Wm. Seward Esqr. F.R.S. Febr. 6 1794'.
