| Description | Daily meteorological observations made at Somerset House, generally made in the morning and afternoon. On printed sheets, with columns for the date, time [left blank], external and interior thermometers, barometer, hygrometer [blank], rain, direction and strength of winds, and general weather remarks. Full annual summaries by month are absent, but there is a summary of rainfall January-April 1822 [p.3].
There is an additional inserted rough sheet [pp.53-54] for 13 December 1822-6 January 1823. A pasted-in note [p.40] contains a memorandum describing 'a violent squall' on 19 October 1822. Another memorandum [p.9] notes that the barometer was filled by Mr. [John] Cary on 11 February 1822.
