DescriptionTables of daily observations made at Madras [Chennai], generally at two hourly intervals, commencing with: the declination magnetometer; horizontal force magnetometer and its thermometer; vertical force magnetometer and its thermometer. With readings from: an uncorrected barometer; its attached thermometer; dry and wet thermometers. These are followed by: unused tables for electrometer observations [pp.10-11]; temperature of dew point, elasticity of vapour, maximum and minimum temperature, solar and terrestrial radiation and Moon's age; corrected barometer; and an abstract of daily triple observations of the magnetometers.

Headed 'Abstract of daily Observations...'. Several pages signed: 'S.O.E. Ludlow', with [p.14] dated 'Madras 8th June 1842'. Inscribed [p.16]: 'Magnetic Observations Madras - May - 1842'.
