Each sheet is signed by S.O.E. Ludlow, as Superintendent of the Observatory. These items duplicate the material in the files MA/252/8-15 and this is stated explicitly in a pencil inscription [p.29]: 'Force of Wind May-Dec 1843 duplicated'. Also inscribed [p.32]: 'Madras November 1843 Magnetic'.
