DescriptionDaily meteorological records, with records of tides, kept at the Salthouse Dock, Liverpool, by successive dock masters. Columns for: date, tides [M and E, presumably morning and evening], hours, height of tide in feet and inches, wind direction, barometer, thermometer and general weather remarks.

Entries for 1 July 1827-30 September 1830 are signed by S Frankland [pp.1-74]; entries for 1 December 1830-28 February 1833 are signed by John Garniss [pp.79-132]; entries for 1 March 1833-31 August 1835 are signed by William White [pp.133-192]. Verso pages are often blank, but entries by Garniss extend to those pages. Pages with entries by White are usually addressed to 'Jesse Hartley Esqr.'.

Each sheet is headed: 'Meteorological Register for the Port of Liverpool.' and inscribed 'Salthouse Dock'.
