Description | Graphical representations of monthly 'term day' meteorological observations made at Singapore. Curves for the barometer, uncorrected with its attached thermometer [left side]; and for the standard thermometer, with wet and dry bulb thermometers [right side]. From August 1843, a solar radiation curve is addde to the left hand graph, and actinometer readings from October 1843. From that date, the right hand graph also records the exposed thermometer, with wet and dry bulb thermometer in shade and in the Observatory. Variation on the instruments recorded continue until November 1845.
Each sheet is signed by C.M. Elliot, with some notes as being chaked by W. Downes. Printed sheets are inscribed lower right: 'Wm. H. Allen & Co.m London'. Verso pages are largely blank, some inscribed with a brief description. Occasional despatch details, for example [p.20]: 'via Southampton 11 May/44'. |
