DescriptionTable of daily observations made at at the Convalescent Hospital at Mahabaleshwar, Maharashtra State. Columns for observations made at sunrise, 10.00am, 4.00pm, sunset and 10.00pm; recording readings of the barometer, mercury thermometer, temperature of the air and wet bulb, and wind direction. Only the first three of these have data added. With additional columns for maximum and minimum readings of temperature, maximum thermometer in Sun's rays, rain gauge [not completed], and general remarks.

A note states that: 'The Instruments were kept on the Northern Verandah of the Hospital at a height of 6 feet from the floor'.

Headed: 'Observations made at Mahableshwur...during the month of January 1858'. Signed by Charles Morehead as supervising surgeon, and by Gilbert Maitland as Assistant Surgeon and Suprintendent at Mahabaleshwar. Inscribed verso [p.2]: 'Form 24 Meteorology January 1858 Convalescent Hospital Mahablr. Mean Tempre. of the month 63° '.
