DescriptionDaily observations made at hourly intervals at the Colaba Observatory. Columns for Gottingen mean time, local observatory time, readings and means of the declination, horizontal force and vertical force magnetometers, with attached thermometers for the latter two. Also recorded: direction of wind, barometer, wet and dry thermometer and difference, force of wind, corrected barometer, solar radiation, wet bulb outside, difference from air thermometer, pressure of moisture, air and ground thermometers and dew point, with observer's initial. The ordering of the information varies during the course of the year, and there are notes on instruments, notably when the barometer type is changed.

The facing pages are headed: 'Observatory at Bombay Daily Observations of Magnetometers...and Meteorological Instruments', with the date. Inscribed [p.518]: 'End of Observations of 1846'.
