DescriptionDaily readings of vibrations and deflections using a [bar?] magnetometers, 'C4' and 'C25'. Columns for number of vibrations, time, difference, difference of 50 vibrations, bifilar, and torsion in an upper table, designated 'vibrations of C4'; columns for deflection, reading, mean and difference, bifilar and torsion in a lower table, designated 'deflections of C25'. With a monthly summary of results for July [p.31].

The notes are paper bound, the front cover inscribed: 'July 1846 and August 1846'. The rear cover inscribed: 'Absolute Determination for the months of July and August 1846'. Front and rear covers are covered with sketches of various subjects, including: an astronomical telescope projecting an image of the Sun; a box chronometer; an observatory; with pieces of furniture, buildings and other subjects.
